Removals to Aarhus & East Jutland
Aarhus is Denmark’s confident younger sibling — a university city on the Jutland coast with a big student population, a growing tech and shipping scene, and rents that make it a favourite for people who love the Danish life but not the Copenhagen price tag. It’s also one of the more straightforward places we deliver.
A city that skews young
With one of the biggest universities in the Nordics, Aarhus has a student energy that shapes the whole city — cafés, music, cycling, and a rental market geared to people arriving with a car-boot rather than a container. But it’s not only students: the port, the engineering firms and a lively design and tech cluster pull in UK professionals and families too. That mix is why our Aarhus loads range from a single-room part-load to a full family home.
Where people land
The compact Midtbyen and the Latin Quarter (Latinerkvarteret) are the pretty, historic heart — cobbles, colour and narrow stairs. Aarhus Ø, the reclaimed docklands, is the modern contrast: waterfront towers with lifts and easy loading. Families often settle in the greener suburbs like Risskov and Højbjerg, or out towards the beech woods and the coast. Each asks for a slightly different plan on the day, and we’ll have surveyed for it.
The wider East Jutland
Aarhus anchors a stretch of coast and countryside that a lot of moves reach into — down towards Odder, inland to the lakes around Silkeborg, or north to Randers and Djursland. Because it’s all mainland, East Jutland is some of the most direct delivery territory in the country once we’re off the ferry or across the German border.
Getting set up
As everywhere in Denmark, the CPR number is the key that unlocks daily life, and you’ll sort it at Borgerservice once you’ve an address. Aarhus rents are gentler than the capital’s but still expect a deposit, so it’s worth having somewhere lined up. Our moving-to-Denmark guide covers the admin, and our services the packing, storage and customs.
Moving to Aarhus — your questions
Is a move to Aarhus quicker than to Copenhagen?
Aarhus is on the Jutland mainland, so a road move doesn’t need the bridges across to the islands — the drive ends once we’re into East Jutland. We won’t put a day count on it (too much depends on the route, crossing and load), but it’s a more direct run than a Zealand delivery, and your quote will set out the plan.
I’m a student moving to Aarhus — can you take a part-load?
That’s a lot of what we carry to Aarhus. The university and the colleges bring a steady flow of UK students, and most aren’t shipping a whole house — a few boxes, a bike, some furniture. A part-load shares the vehicle and keeps a small move sensible. Just tell us roughly what there is.
Can you deliver to the new Aarhus Ø waterfront flats?
Yes. The Aarhus Ø (Aarhus Docklands) developments are modern towers with lifts and loading access — generally an easier delivery than the older flats in the Latin Quarter, where the streets are narrow and the staircases tight. We plan for whichever you’re moving into.
